Shelby's Story...
Meet Shelby! She is a 5 year old spayed female female pitbull terrier mix. She is full of life and would make a great hiking buddy. She walks great on leash once she gets going. She loves (and I do mean LOVE) toys, swimming, and being with people. She tested well with a female and male dog but is very high energy with other dogs so she will need a patient and friendly dog friend.

Shelby, a Colonial Heights animal shelter American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Colonial Heights animal shelter, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Colonial Heights animal shelter.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Colonial Heights animal shelter already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Colonial Heights animal shelter breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Colonial Heights animal shelter paves the way for another one to be saved.
