India's Story...
India will be turning 2 years old this fall. A gorgeous yet timid girl who loves affection, but will take a while to warm up to her humans. Once she figures out that you are "safe" she will rub against you and let herself be picked up and even cuddled like a baby. India loves to be pet, especially on her back. She's been spayed and vaccinated against rabies and distemper. Overall India is a quiet girl, and she will need her forever human to use food as a socialization tool to help her adapt. India gets along well with feline-friendly cats and dogs. Right now she has a best feline buddy who cuddles with her at the rescue, but India is flexible and would welcome a new buddy. India would not do well in a home with small kids as she would be overwhelmed and likely hide all the time. India uses the litterbox faithfully. She has a quiet purr. This girl is hysterical when watching other cats play as she "shadow boxes" imagining what she would do behind them.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

India, a New Prague Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in New Prague, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in New Prague.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New Prague already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New Prague breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New Prague paves the way for another one to be saved.
