**COURTESY POSTING**
Sandy is an approximately 8 year old medium sized, mixed breed dog. Possibly shepherd/lab mix. She has had a very rough life. Sandy was on her own in the desert for a long time, having multiple litters of puppies.  She was so terrified of humans though that it took a year to catch her. Finally one hot summer day, she gave up and walked right into a kennel. After an exam, it was found that Sandy was pregnant again, severely malnourished, and had heartworm. After having her puppies, she was treated for heartworm and her true personality came out. Her foster mom noticed that she was starting to limp one day so she went to the vet. After an Xray is showed Sandy has a bullet in one of her legs. Part of it was removed but she still has some fragments in her rear leg. This doesn't slow her down though! She has an amazing amount of trust towards humans after everything she has gone through. She loves to relax inside and play with other dogs. She has moments when she jumps around acting like a puppy but is the low maintenance of a senior dog. Sandy would love to go to a home with another dog and a home that would give her the attention and love she has needed her entire life.
