Oswald's Story...
This handsome red dapple boy is Oswald. In spite of some hard times, he's a happy boy full of doxie personality. Ossie found himself in a shelter where he was left, supposedly as the result of a divorce. What a thing to happen to a sweet older guy. Oswald is a dapper older gentleman of 12 years, 15 pounds. He's slender and very long. Os is a happy boy who gets along with everyone. He likes other dogs, ignores cats. His absolute favorite thing is food. He'd eat everything all day long if he could and doesn't miss a trick when it comes to anything edible. Os was quite overweight when he came into rescue, so he has to be given just the right amount of high quality canine kibble/treats. Oswald is good at entertaining himself. He enjoys playing with toys, loves the squeaker! And he loves to wrap himself in a cozy blanket inside a doggie bed. He'll make a great companion for someone who loves doxies and chilling too. Please reach out and/or submit an application to adopt at Oswald's adoption fee is $175 to help rescue.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oswald, a Andalusia Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Andalusia, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Andalusia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Andalusia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Andalusia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Andalusia paves the way for another one to be saved.
