Life can sure be difficult sometimes for both humans and animals. So is the case for Callie the Kitty. This gorgeous tortie girl had a loving home for most of her life, until her person took ill and could no longer care for her. Callie has definitely put on her happy face though in spite of losing her long-time home. She seems to be adjusting pretty darn well to her new environment considering all the changes and new faces, which is remarkable for a cat, especially a senior kitty. Callie is quite a friendly gal, and likes to occasionally carry on a conversation or just chirp a bit. Even though Callie is ‘purr’fectly sweet, her years of kittenhood are far behind her, which in a lot of respects can be a good thing. She will not be keeping you up all night playing games, running in and out of your feet, climbing the window treatments, etc. Callie mostly just wants a nice warm window seat where she can watch the world outside, and someone to love her. Not much to ask is it? She will reward you with her loyalty, and lots of love and purrs in return. Maybe even keep your feet warm at night. So, if you have an opening in your home and heart, please consider giving this lovely older gal a second chance at happiness. Think how great you both will feel...

Our Adoption Process...

We have many cats and kittens looking for wonderful homes! All of our cats are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, tested for FIV and Feline Leukemia, and microchipped. Adoption fee is $50. Because we like for our cats to go home in pairs, we have a standing 2 for 1 adoption special -- you can adopt 2 cats for one fee of $50.

Meet some of our cats and kittens, and fill out an application today! An OAR representative will get in touch with you to discuss your application. We do require a phone screening before an adoption so if you are coming to visit the cats and hope to take a cat or kitten home that day, fill out and submit the application at least a day beforehand so we can pre-approve your adoption.

As of 3/7/12, our adoption policy requires that the adopters of our cats not declaw the cats, no matter what the cat's age. We will, with our adoption counselors' help, provide potential adopters with information on alternatives to declawing. We also sometimes have previously declawed cats up for adoption. These can be a good alternative for adopters who are adamant about declawing.
