Java in CA's Story...
Java is a sweet boy who just wants a lap to curl up in. He was a stray who ended up in a shelter in the San Francisco Bay area. Somebody cropped his ears and tail, possibly to make him look like a Norwich or Schnauzer. He appears to have been house trained and so far has kept his kennel area in his foster home clean. He craves love and prefers not to be alone. He is a good eater and is very healthy. This poor little guy must have had a home once. He is going to make somebody a wonderful, loving companion.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Java in CA, a Portland Cairn Terrier/Standard Schnauzer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cairn Terrier/Standard Schnauzer for sale in Portland, or seeking a Cairn Terrier/Standard Schnauzer dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cairn Terrier/Standard Schnauzer breeders who help with Cairn Terrier/Standard Schnauzer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
