Hoka in BC's Story...
Miss Hoka is a beautiful 4 year old little girl with a very sweet disposition. She loves to be cuddled and must have her Foster mom or dad in view at all times. She does not potty in the house or kennel, she prefers the great outdoors for potty times. Our heart skipped a beat when she first wagged her tail. Even though she is still extremely nervous she no longer wants to be kennel bound at night, and she still needs to be carried down stairs. Everyday we try the stairs, and for the first time we tried going for a walk. She is good on the leash.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hoka in BC, a Portland Cairn Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cairn Terrier for sale in Portland, or seeking a Cairn Terrier dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cairn Terrier breeders who help with Cairn Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
