My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Koa (koh'(w)ah). Her name in Hawaiian means 'Bold, Brave and Fearless'. She was Fearless when she arrived. She had several layovers before she arrived in Washington from North Carolina and she was so happy to be here! Waggie tail, happy smile. We were told she had some aggression but after these first two weeks we believe it was because she was only protecting herself, and maybe she isn't quite as fearless as she would like to be! Koa would do well as an only lady and she would probably just ignore the other dogs you may have, as she does ours. Our furkids are happy to leave her be and let her come into her own. At first Koa just wanted me to hold her and love her. She is still more love motivated rather than food motivated. I don't have to reassure her all the time that she is very loved. Now, she doesn't always come when called because there is something more interesting than us. She is really curious about our alley cat and will watch her for hours. Koa doesn't bark, but paces when she sees something interesting, and when left alone too long outside she will dig, so someone must keep an eye on her. Koa needs a place to call her own, with a home that needs a girl to call their own! Do you need a little one that is bold, brave, and fearless?
