My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gracie - female, spayed, vaccinated including Rabies, Heartworm tested (-), dewormed, tx Flea Preventative, micro chipped, approx 50lbs/approx 26” @ shoulder, approx 3yrs, Lab mix (possibly Shepherd or Collie?).

Gracie is a sweet girl who has been neglected in the past, she was very, very skinny when she arrived, she has been putting on the weight nicely while in her foster home and she is looking better every day. She weighed about 45lbs when she came in to our care, she now weighs about 50lbs, she should gain at least another 10lbs or so to be the ideal weight. She would be considered a large dog as she is quite tall and should ideally weight 65-70lbs. Her coat is in poor condition at the moment as a result of the lack of proper food and care, her coat will improve in time as she puts the weight back on and is eating better food. She loves cuddles and LOVES to be brushed. She is crate trained and house trained; she should continue her crate training in her new home to make sure that her house training continues. She is happy sleeping in her crate at night and when left alone and would likely be fine given free roam of the home once she is used to her new place. Gracie is good with other dogs and is fine with cats. We prefer a home with no small children as she does not like to be touched when eating, she is otherwise fine with children. She is fine to have her bowl taken away from her but she doesn’t like to be pestered while dining, most likely as a result of her past and not having enough food before coming to 4 Legged Love. Gracie knows a couple of basic commands but could use a refresher; an obedience class with her new family would be a great way for her to bond with them. She is active and likes her daily walks but is by no means hyper. She enjoys a daily 40min walk and loves to play in the fenced yard. She is just beautiful when she runs and will be stunning when she is at her proper weight. She likes to be with people and would be a great dog for those who enjoy the dog park. Gracie listens well when called and prefers to be close to people, she is eager to please and tries hard for praise and any attention she can get. She nudges her foster mom’s hand for a pet on the head whenever she can. She is just the sweetest dog, she will make a great companion for someone looking for a friendly, goofy, loyal dog. Gracie is best suited to a house with a fenced yard.
