Asbury's Story...
Dear Prospective Family,

Look at my adorable face! How could you not fall in love with me? I am so sweet and absolutely no trouble at all. My foster mommy says I am a perfect companion for any mature household. I am house trained, I don't shed and I only bark to let you know when someone is at the door. I enjoy my morning walk with my foster sister (a little corgi) and get along well with her and other dogs. Cats I'm not so sure about because I don't live with any. My activity level is moderate and I do enjoy the occasional game of fetch and tug-of-war. I am delighted to chew on an antler or I especially like one of those Himalayan Yak bones made from Yak milk. Who knew? I have learned to sit and wait to eat until I am told it is okay to do so. I know the command “go potty” to which I comply.

In the evening, when it's time to watch TV with my family, I enjoy sleeping on the sofa snuggling up to my foster mommy. At night I sleep beside the big bed in my own bed and am quiet all night. I would like nothing better than to sleep in the big bed with my furever family. I am crated when my foster family has to leave the house, but not all day. Usually just a few hours. I live with retired humans and they are here with me most of the time.

I would do best in a home with caring adults. I am so calm and easy going, small children would not be a good fit on a daily basis. I do enjoy the occasional visit of grandchildren as I do in my foster home. An active retired couple or just an adult that is looking to be loved by me is all I truly want.

So if this sounds like a good fit I would love to meet you.

Ashy (that's my nickname and I like it better than Asbury – too formal for my taste!)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Asbury, a Alpharetta Cocker Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel for sale in Alpharetta, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel dog from a breeder in Alpharetta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Alpharetta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Alpharetta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Alpharetta paves the way for another one to be saved.
