Hey there! My name is BeeBee. I’ve had another name with a family but I don’t talk in people so no one understands what I say. I am around 7 years old and for some reason my people decided that they couldn’t or didn’t want to keep me anymore. They tied me to a beam at a place that had really loud barking!! I think that they called it the animal shelter? Shelter is about all it is – I was not a fan. They initially named me Beamer since I was found tied to a beam at this shelter place. My foster mommy changed it to BeeBee – she says it’s cuter? Anyway, they stuck a poker in my leg and pulled out some red stuff then said, “Uh oh, she’s heartworm positive.” No clue about all of that but afterward they told people and the people brought stuff called “money” and then they shaved spots on my back and stuck me with more pokers. These people are downright crazy. Anyway, I was saved from all the pokers by my foster mommy. She said I was supposed to be calm because of the “heartworm treatment” for 4 weeks. So, she took me to her house. She has 5 other dogs and two cats. Calm?? I am so happy to see other dogs that I can hardly contain myself. I had to stay separated from them for a long time. Now I get to hang out with them all of the time. I get to go inside the house!!! I get to sleep in the house at night!! This place is awesome. The other dogs will play sometimes and I want to join in soooo bad but I don’t know how. Do I grab a hind leg like the others do? Won’t they get mad?? I’m confused about it all but it really looks like fun. My foster mom says that my other family must not have taken good care of me. I prefer to eat my food directly off of the floor and my water from concrete or standing puddles. She wants me to eat from a bowl and drink from a bowl. I’m really trying hard to please her but bowls scare the you know what out of me. She will sit with me and put her hand down in the water or in the food and that is perfect! She has gotten to where she won’t do that all of the time anymore. Something about teaching me to do it on my own?? I disagree but a girl does have to eat and drink so I play along sometimes. I am a Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix – I think. I have really long hair. I love the look. I also like to be brushed but not for too long. I get bored so I go lay down somewhere else. I am good on a leash. I like to smell stuff and look around but a little tug and I’m ready to go again. My foster mommy tells everyone that “She is the sweetest dog ever” and they pet me. I assume being the “sweetest dog ever” is a good thing. I do enjoy walking by folks and licking them – just to say hello.
