The Friends of League City Animal Shelter rescues animals from the shelters, and places them in foster homes, where they can receive the love and care they need. We hold adoption events every weekend. If you would like to meet a specific kitty, please email us beforehand, and we'll make sure it's there. On Saturdays: League City (I-45 @ 646) PETSMART 10am - 3pm. On Sundays: Clear Lake PETCO (Bay Area Blvd @ Space Center) 12noon - 4pm You can download an ADOPTION APPLICATION from our PETFINDER HOMEPAGE and submit it to us via email or at the adoption event. Applications submitted via email prior to the weekend can often be pre-approved, meaning you can go to the event and take your pet home that day. We cannot guarantee same-day approval of applications submitted at the event, because there may not be a volunteer working who is authorized to approve applications. Please note that with an approved application, we can sometimes arrange a meeting during the week. Just ask! NOTE: Rescued cats and kittens are exposed to a lot, both on the streets and in the shelter. While we provide them with medical care and vaccinations, they have not been fully examined by a veterinarian. Your adopted pet needs a complete Veterinary exam (including fecal), within about a week of adoption. For more cat and kitten care information, ask your Vet, or visit with our "Friends of LC Shelter" volunteers. Meanwhile, go to www.healthypet.com, click on Pet Care, then Cat Care. NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter! Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply.
