Jake's Story...
Jake is a handsome Pit Bull puppy who loves to play, play, play! He loves attention from humans and other dogs, he's very easy going and laid back, and still very puppy-ish in that he loves to nibble on feet and toes and he's still a little mouthy and needs to learn to walk on leash a bit better.
He's about 6-8 months of age. Jake came to us when he was found by a dumpster in Memphis and a good Samaritan picked him up and took him to a shelter. Unfortunately, it was a rural, high kill shelter. His foot pads were ripped off, and one was severely cut open an they had maggots in them. We had the shelter transfer him to our vet in Memphis, where they did daily bandage changes until the infection went down and they could do surgery on the one foot pad to close it. They think he was drug behind a car, or somehow burned them. Regardless, it doesn't stop him from being a great pup now!
W are looking for an energetic person or family for Jake- no couch potatoes please! also, someone willing to take him to puppy classes and help him with some basic manners.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jake, a Pittsburgh American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Pittsburgh, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Pittsburgh.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pittsburgh already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pittsburgh breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pittsburgh paves the way for another one to be saved.
