Jersey is an incredibly chill, 2-year-old pittie mix with a country boy kind of temperament. This kind soul has been treated like an afterthought way too many times in his young life, I guess that's what happens when you're a quiet, easy going fella like Jersey. Perhaps he should have been obnoxious so someone paid attention to him, but that's just not this boy's style at all. Jersey's big break came when he got tired of being a yard ornament in the hot sun, so he chewed through the rope that held him and hit the road.....to animal control. Oof, this guy can't catch a break, or can he? Jersey's starting to believe that his story is finally on track towards a happy ending now that he's landed a temporary foster. Jersey would like to report that living in air conditioning is a-ok, and having a huge dog bed to chill on is pretty dang nice too. Jersey's foster reports that he's exceptionally quiet and easy going, he's housebroken, non-destructive and quiet in his crate. He loves going on walks in the woods and makes a great hiking buddy with lovely leash manners. Are you looking for a chill buddy dog to join you on your adventures? Jersey may well be your guy!

Our adoption fee is $195. This covers spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, all age appropriate vaccines, and any needed vet care.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption Approval Process for South of the Bully

• An Adoption Application must be completed and approved. We call and check vet references to make sure any current pets are up to date with vaccinations and check length of time under vet care. We review all their current pets and ask questions about their temperament to make sure the dog they want to adopt would be a good fit.

• If a dog has been chosen, a meet and greet is arranged if requested AFTER the application is approved. If they have other pets, we also like them to meet at this time, if possible.

• The final step is a home visit. If the home visit is approved the potential adopters can begin their 14 day trial adoption period. Our adoption fee is $195 which includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations and microchip. If for some reason the dog isn’t a fit in their home we refund $95 of the adoption fee within the 14 day trial period. This is all listed in our Adoption Contract.

• We offer training support and resources for the lifetime of the dog once adopted. Our contract states that if for any reason they cannot continue to provide care for one of our dogs that it be returned to our rescue.
