We have Angels for Axl!! Mary Tassin, Ellen Silvers, Rebecca Burns, Lorraine Stella & Dorothy Marks
We couldn't save these babies without you!  SCMR thanks you and sweet little Axl thanks you!

Axl is a sweetheart who has happily reached the grand age of 15 years and weighs 7lbs. This 'old gentleman' is blind, deaf and has a heart murmur. He has been abused most of his life and desperately wants a forever family that will give him the love, kindness and patience that he so deserves for the time he has left. Axl is a great travel buddy, has a great appetite, sleeps most of the day and enjoys being outside in the sunlight. Sounds like what we all want for our 'golden retirement years'.

Axl needs to find a home where there is someone with him most of the time. He loves people and loves to be held, and it would be best for Axl if he is the only family pet. Please no children under 13

Axl is being fostered in Bristow, VA.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Axl*Adopted, a Chattanooga Maltese/Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese/Shih Tzu for sale in Chattanooga, or seeking a Maltese/Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Chattanooga.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chattanooga already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chattanooga breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese/Shih Tzu breeders who help with Maltese/Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chattanooga paves the way for another one to be saved.
