Oakley is a super sweet red and white 7 old girl. Her adoptive family had to return her when they were faced with serious health issues. In her adoptive home she was named Muffin, and she goes by that name now. She is very agile, does stairs, and can get on furniture easily. She will get on those counters, so watch where you put your food. She would love for you to pet her all day long. She will get as close to you as she can and give lots of nudges. She is more alpha/bossy in personality so another dog that doesn't mind that would be a good friend for her. She loves to play with other dogs, and will bark to get them to play with her. We suggest no small children for her. She is best friends with her foster brother, Wagner, since he is very laid back. She loves car rides and walks. She is crated trained and knows the dog door.

About Basset Hound Rescue of Georgia

About Our Rescue Group...

Basset Hound Rescue of Georgia is a non-profit, volunteer effort to save abandonded and mistreated Basset Hounds. Our rescue effort began in 1991, and we have rescued over 2,500 Bassets since that time. Orginally privately funded by two volunteers, today BHRG is a non-profit charitable organization which exists solely on donations.

Orphaned Bassets are held in foster care until permanent, loving homes can be found.

Adoptions are held each weekend of the month at locations in metro-Atlanta. See our website at www.bhrg.org for specific dates and locations.

A $200 adoption donation is required for dogs under 8 years of age. A $100 donation is required of dogs 8 years old and older. This donation defrays the cost of shots, spay/neuter, heartworm treatments, and other vet costs.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our Adoption Process...

Visit our website at http://www.bhrg.org/adoption.htm and download an adoption application. Once complete, it can be mailed or faxed per the instructions on the application. Once the application is approved, a pre-adoption home visit is required for families outside the metro-Atlanta area. Post-adoption visits are required of families with approved applications. Once the application is received & approved, a volunteer will call to help you select the right hound for your lifestyle.
