Hi there! My name is Sylvia.  I am about 1 year old and weigh around 10 lbs.  I am super sweet and will be an awesome new member to some lucky family.
When I was first rescued from the shelter, I was very scared and shy. I’ve been in my foster home for a little while now and I am really coming out of my shell. I am still afraid of loud noises and really sudden moves but I’m an awesome lap dog and I have discovered how to play!!!! Playing is exciting stuff for me. I love it when my foster mom throws stuffed toys and I get to bring them back to her so she’ll throw them again.
I would do well in just about any home. I get along well with all the dogs in my foster home and the cats don’t bother me either. I think I'd prefer kids older than 5 that would be gentle with me.It might take a few minutes for me to open up but once I am comfortable with you, prepare for kisses!! I am working on potty training and I do well in my crate. It’s only a matter of time until I have mastered all I need to know.

About Cody's Friends Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
Thank you for visiting and considering a rescue........................

Our Adoption Process...

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. Upon request, they are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $200 to $250 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $300 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.
** Please note that I do not usually adopt out my dogs with children under four years of age.
