Additional info: Oliver came to us as a stray from the shelter. He is very playful with an adorable puppy like energy. He is not generally aggressive but he might bark and nip at first when he meets new dogs or people (especially men) He is timid and shy and scared of men. In addition he seems to resource guard his "person". He can be desensitized to this issue and we can absolutely show his new family how to deal with this. He does warm up and settles down when he's comfortable with someone. The longer he is in a home setting and feeling safe, the more he will let go of his fear. Once he gets comfortable with you, he loves sitting on your lap and playing fetch. He also adores his squeaky toys. We think he has been through a lot and needs to settle into a routine with a patient person. For now, we do not recommend him for a home with kids. He loves his walks and is still working a little on his leash skills. He is housetrained as long as he has access to the outdoors every couple of hours. Oliver can be a door darter so he needs a secure environment. We just know his true personality will just blossom in the weeks to come.
