Hi, I'm Clementine (aka 'Remi')!  I have had a hard road, but it has gotten better lately!  I was rescued from an area in SE Dallas that is a known dumping ground for dogs - dead and alive - and I am so fortunate that some nice people got me the heck outta there!  I am about 6 to 7 years old and very sweet, although I can be a bit shy at first.  I co-exist with other dogs who don't bug me, but I'm not really a player; I much prefer to just hang out with my person. Kitties are just fine as well.  When I was first rescued, I had a case of heartworms so severe that heartworms were found in the biopsy done of the tumor on my tail!  But that's all behind me now - I had a lengthy heartworm treatment, and finally got that tumor off of my tail, which turned out to be benign!  Now all I need to complete my journey to a better life is my forever home. Is that with you?  I am housetrained and crate trained.

Our Adoption Process...

Applications are screened and references checked for both veterinarian and renters. Phone interview is conducted and if a potential match we will arrange a playdate. To move forward with a potential placement we require a home visit and introduce existing pets to the new pet. If successful a 72-hour home trial is mandatory. To give the applicant possession of the pet the applicant must fill out the Adoption Contract and pay the adoption fee. The contract and adoption fee is held for the 72-hour trial period. If placement is desired at the end of the trial period the organization signs and executes the contract. A copy of the contract along with medical records will then be forwarded to the adopter. 1 week, 1 month, 3 month, and 6 month follow-ups are conducted.
