Facts about Obie

  • Breed: Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier Mix
  • Color: Red/Golden/Orange/Chestnut - With White
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Obie loooves toys and treats. He will do anything for toys or treats. Very eager to please and knows a couple tricks such as sit, stay, roll over, shake, etc. He is also a big snuggler. As soon as you sit or lay down he will jump into you lap or lay beside you. He has also never met a stranger. He will run up and great anyone with a jump and wagging tail. Some people also may or may not like that he is a big kisser. He will lick your face any chance he gets. He is house trained and does very well in the crate. I'm not sure how he is with cats, but he does well with my dog and did well with Jessica Troops dogs as far as I'm aware. I think he would be best suited for a family with a yard and older kids because of how much energy he has. He needs a lot of room to run.

About Virginia Paws for Pits

About Our Rescue Group...

VPFP is on a mission to educate the public on the misconceptions that go hand in hand with "pit bulls" we strive to match families with the perfect dog for their lifestyle and activity level to ensure that the adoption is a success for all involved. Pit bulls and mixes account for 58% of dogs in shelters and nearly 2800 are killed every day in the united states. We promote spaying and neutering in the community and encourage our adopters to use their dogs as ambassadors for this misunderstood class of dogs, by going out into the community and making a difference.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fees vary from $50-$250 depending on the age of the animal, the amount of care provided, and the duration of their time in our rescue program. You can apply online via our website and we will be in touch with you in 48-72 hours. We do a reference check with your vet to make sure all animals in the home are current on vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered. We verify with landlords that the applicant can have a pet and there are no size or breed restrictions and finally we conduct a home inspection. Once approved there is an additional contract to sign stating that the adopter is taking over responsibility of the dog and that if at ANY time he/she is unable to care for the dog they must be returned to VPFP with ample notification to our board members.
