This beauty is Bessie. SheÂs been in foster care since July, and sheÂs wondering why her forever family hasnÂt found her, yet.
Bessie is a total sweetheart. She is extremely smart, learns quickly, and is attentive to whatever is happening around her. But this girl is more than just beauty and brains. She also has a wonderful, funny personality. As with most intellects, sheÂs strong minded and strong willed, so sheÂll need someone who matches her spirit. SheÂs mid-energy and enjoys romping with her foster brother and sisters or sheÂs cool relaxing on the sofa and snoozing while her person watches TV.
She loves to give kisses and loves everyone she meets. She also does well with other dogs, but in the beginning, brief, supervised meetings are suggested before fully intergrating her into a canine family. She can be domineering, which is a trait of her breed. She liked to chase cats when she first arrived, but she only ran after them because she wanted to be friends. Lately, sheÂs backed off feline pursuits.
Bessie is primarily an inside dog. SheÂs potty trained with great manners as in sheÂs not destructive. She does walk on a leash, although she will pull. Though compact, she is quite powerful, and tends to forget her strength when she gets excited or distracted by something she has to investigate.
Her favorite things are eating, playing with toys, and running around the yard with her foster siblings. But what she loves the most, is snuggling with her foster mom. Her future goals are to maintain her food bowl, keep up with all the latest squeaky toys, and find a real mom and dad to cuddle with.
Bessie is an American Bull Dog mix. SheÂs two years old, weighs about 54 pounds, heartworm negative, and sheÂs already fixed.
