Rhello, I'm Maximus but my foster mom calls me Max. Mom says Im about 4 yrs young and that I am a big 85lb goofy boy. Mom says that I had a unfortunate past and that I am one blessed pup; she said I was almost euthanized in an over crowded high kill shelter after my family surrendered me. I don't exactly know what all that means but it sounds bad and I'm happy I'm safe. I love my Foster Mommy very much but I am looking for a family to call my own and would love to have a new family to call my own. Wow, that would be pawesome! If you think I would look handsome hanging by your side, then scoop me up, I'm patiently waiting for you!
Max is a neutered male, UTD on vaccinations and HW-. Max does well with other dogs as he lives with 4 of all sizes, he does do better with females but he does live with a male too. He could live with another male with a knowledgeable owner and as with any dogs slow supervised introductions. He is a great loving boy who just needs someone who really cares and spends time and energy on their furbabies.

About Virginia Paws for Pits

About Our Rescue Group...

VPFP is on a mission to educate the public on the misconceptions that go hand in hand with "pit bulls" we strive to match families with the perfect dog for their lifestyle and activity level to ensure that the adoption is a success for all involved. Pit bulls and mixes account for 58% of dogs in shelters and nearly 2800 are killed every day in the united states. We promote spaying and neutering in the community and encourage our adopters to use their dogs as ambassadors for this misunderstood class of dogs, by going out into the community and making a difference.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fees vary from $50-$250 depending on the age of the animal, the amount of care provided, and the duration of their time in our rescue program. You can apply online via our website and we will be in touch with you in 48-72 hours. We do a reference check with your vet to make sure all animals in the home are current on vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered. We verify with landlords that the applicant can have a pet and there are no size or breed restrictions and finally we conduct a home inspection. Once approved there is an additional contract to sign stating that the adopter is taking over responsibility of the dog and that if at ANY time he/she is unable to care for the dog they must be returned to VPFP with ample notification to our board members.
