Missy's Story...
Missy has lost about 7 lbs. and needs to loose at least another 10 lbs to be at a healthy weight. Missy loves her people. I am not sure how she is with children because since I have had her she hasn't been around children. She is doing well with my dog savvy three cats. She gets along with my jealous female dogs and I think she would be good in a home with another dog or alone with her people. Missy just wants to be near her people whether they are vacuuming or working at the computer. Missy dislikes noise that sounds like thunder. She hides and shakes when it storms, but is handling the noise with medication. She loves to run in the backyard and bark at the garbage truck, so that noise does not trigger her fear response. She loves men and women. She isn't picky about who gives her the lovin' as long as it happens, but if you get tired and stop petting her, she will voluntarily go away on her own. She needs people who want a companion to snuggle with or sit beside. She likes to go for neighborhood walks and walks without pulling on the leash. She is such an angel and a real easygoing girl.

Missy is estimated to be nine years old.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Missy, a Allen Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Allen, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Allen.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Allen already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Allen breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Allen paves the way for another one to be saved.
