April's Story...
April is a gorgeous 4 year old dilute calico. She was a stray who was surrendered to FAPL and then her finder came back and adopted her. April did well until they got 2 younger cats and a dog. That overwhelmed her and she would just hide. Her owners returned her to find another home. April was adopted again and did fine until the family got a kitten and she acted out again. They decided to keep the kitten and April was returned again. This nice girl needs a home where she can feel safe and secure as an only pet. Can you give this pretty kitty a forever home?

*** April is currently in the "cattery" at Friendship APL and doing well with other cats ***

All cats receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed and spayed/neutered and feline leukemia tested. Kittens under a year old are $50 and cats over a year are only $20. All kittens/cats over 3 months old are also micro-chipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

April, a Elyria Calico cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Calico for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Calico cat from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Calico breeders who help with Calico rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
