Important Note

BEN is best friends with JERRY. Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!

Meet BEN and his brother JERRY.
These two affectionate and gentle souls are 3 yr. old brothers who were surrendered to the shelter together. Sadly, their beloved purrson has become very ill and can no longer take care of them.

Ben and Jerry are a bonded pair who are very very talkative, sweet and fully engaged in their interactions with everyone. We call them our ambassador cats because they get along with every singe resident of the cattery and have a lovely positive balancing/calming effect on the newcomers. Come to the shelter to meet our fabulous felines and you will most definitely fall in love. There are so many reasons to visit Bergen County Protect and Rescue today, and they all have a name.

About Bergen County Protect and Rescue

About Our Shelter...

Bergen County Protect & Rescue is a True No-Kill Animal Welfare Facility located in Cliffside Park. It was founded in 2012 by Eastern Bergen County's very own Animal Control Agency, Bergen County Humane Enforcement. The idea of creating a no-kill facility came to be when animal control officers were forced to take lost and abandoned animals to surrounding veterinarians and animals shelters with no knowledge of where their final destination would be. In most cases, the animals were treated and adopted out to loving homes while others were euthanized.

Inspired to help make a difference in the animal world today, BCP&R was created. Today, we are a 501c(3) non-profit, volunteer operated, no-kill animal shelter. We are grateful to all the rescue groups, veterinarians, shelters, volunteers and donors that helped make BCP&R what it has become today. Their guidance and support has empowered us greatly.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Animals are available for adoption 7 days (12:00pm - 5:00pm) a week from our facility. Late night Wednesdays - open till 7pm.
