Clementine's Story...
Clementine is a medium size 7 yr. old Beagle mixed with Basset Hound who you may not look twice at because of a temporary and very treatable skin issue. She developed this infection because of the environment she came from. But...as soon as you meet her and see how incredibly loving she is you will not even notice this skin problem. She is currently being treated and in a few shorts weeks she will not only be the beautiful girl she is inside but outside as well. This little girl needs some love big time and you can see it the minute you look into her eyes. She will absolutely melt your heart.

For more information or to see Clementine, submit an online dog adoption application at http://hsfc.org/adoptions/applications/online/. After reviewing the application, staff will contact you—typically within 48 hours— to make an appointment to visit the farm where our dogs and horses are kept.

Our dogs and horses are NOT at the HSFC shelter at 4057 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax, VA--only our cats, birds, rabbits, and small mammals can be visited there. Come by and see us!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Clementine, a Fairfax Beagle/Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle/Basset Hound for sale in Fairfax, or seeking a Beagle/Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Fairfax.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fairfax already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fairfax breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle/Basset Hound breeders who help with Beagle/Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fairfax paves the way for another one to be saved.
