Cash's Story...
I’m a classic Blue tabby, and I was born March 6, 2016. “Sweet” is the term my foster moms use to describe me. I love to cuddle up and purr. I enjoy exploring and playing, but sometimes I also just like to sit on the sidelines and watch my siblings wear themselves out chasing a laser light. I do like to play (I AM a kitten after all!), but my foster moms think I’m destined to be more of a couch potato. I like having my coat brushed, although I’m less fond of getting my teeth brushed or my nails clipped, but I always try to be good for my people, and I always use my litterbox. I am neutered and have tested negative for FeLV/FIV. I sure hope I get a wonderful home, and I need to be adopted with one of my brothers. I need to have some way to get my ears washed and have someone to keep me warm when no one is home.

To adopt you must first complete an adoption application and either come to an adoption event or arrange to meet the cat in its foster home. We do not do same day adoptions so, generally, we can only adopt within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cash, a Gaithersburg Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Gaithersburg, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Gaithersburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gaithersburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gaithersburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gaithersburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
