Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Most dogs enjoy human companionship, but Randy really wants to be someone’s special sidekick. One of his favorite things is just riding in the front seat of the truck, leaning on the driver and enjoying the journey with you. He loves walks, playing fetch, hanging in the yard while you work, or anything you do together. If you walk away, he watches you with his striking powder-blue eyes until you return.
Randy has nice manners. He knows sit and he will wait at a gate until invited to join you. He walks well on leash with occasional reminders not to pull. He is very clean in his run even when left for a long night, so he is most likely house-trained with frequent outings and supervision. He is being crate-trained. He goes in easily for treats, and has been left for very short periods. He should not be left for long periods without more conditioning and testing. He is only moderately treat motivated, so high-value goodies work best for training.
Randy was curious but respectful when tested with a stationary cat, and a cat that moved around slowly. He and any potential feline housemates would need careful introductions with supervision. He enjoys playing with female dogs, but he does not get along with dominant or posturing male dogs, so he is not a good candidate for dog park play. He and any neutral or submissive male housemates would need to meet to see if they are compatible.
Randy was tested with well-behaved, dog-savvy children aged 11 and 12. He enjoyed their company, walked well on leash for them, and loved playing fetch.
If you are looking for a true buddy to share activities, trips or just the couch, Randy would love to fill the position.
