Ellie's Story...
Hey everybody, I’m Ellie. I was abandoned outside when I was very young. I was hiding in some bushes when a nice lady found me and took me inside. So far I am loving the indoor life.

My foster mom says that I am shy but fierce. One of my very favorite things to do is to play. I prefer soft toys that I can roll around and bunny kick. I always win those battles! I have a favorite purple stuffed toy that I carry around with me. My foster mom says I can keep it forever. There are two bigger kittens in my foster home, and I really like to play and wrestle with them, but boys can be so rough. I’d love to have a gentle playmate in my new home though. I also like to snuggle with my foster family. They even let me get in bed with them if I want!

I’m still a little shy from my outdoor days, but I’m growing more and more brave each day. I think I would like to find a forever home with a friend for me to play with and people who will be patient with me and help me to feel safe and loved.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ellie, a Richmond Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
