This darling one year old boy is Pollux. He and his brother Castor spent the first year of their lives closed on a porch with very little human affection. Despite their deprivation, both boys are still so desperate for love from people!

Pollux gets so happy and excited when any attention is shown him that he can barely contain himself; he's so very grateful for any live shown him that he doesn't know what to do with himself. He gets wiggly and bouncy and tries to kiss and get as close as possible. He was never taught to have manners about his need for affection, and he's never sure if it will be taken from him, so he tries desperately to squeeze it all in in just a few seconds of frantic kisses and jumps.

He and his brother Castor were named after the brothers of myth. The story goes that the brothers were so close that when Castor died Pollux gave up part of his immortality to Castor so they could stay together. Our Pollie has a heart like that. He loves with his entire being.

Pollux is an incredibly sensitive boy and his heart is easily wounded with a harsh word or threatening body language; he will cower and slink until he's sure no one is angry at him or will hurt him.

Pollie went to our adoption event and did fantastically! He loved everyone he met (obviously) and did well with friendly dogs. He and Castor live in our play group building and he does well there.

Do you have a fence and live within 30-40 miles of Hartford City? Would you prefer to foster Pollux until he finds his adoptive family? He would love that!! Just private message us your email address and we'll send you a foster app that you can complete and email back! If you have questions about what fostering means for you, please private message us here and we'll be happy to answer! Fosters are so awesome in so many ways!!

Our darling Pollux is neutered, vaccinated, tested for heartworm, microchipped, and current on flea and heartworm preventative. All he needs is a safe and happy home full of love and understanding!
