I was adopted as a kitten and was neglected of some basic care which caused me some suffering. You see, like many other beings, I am allergic to fleas. I wasn''t given any kind of flea prevention as recommended for many household pets and after a few years of suffering I had lost a lot of my hair, had inflamed red skin with sores all over and was so incredibly itchy. Have you ever had an itch you couldn''t get relief from? Imagine having that all over your body for years. I was miserable. I was surrendered to SVACA where I was given some flea prevention along with some basic supportive care to recover and like magic, I am all better and feeling fantastic!! If you were to meet me and see my beautiful, full and soft coat, you would have no idea what I have been through. I hope to find my happily ever after family who will keep my inside only and provide flea control. Easy peasy, right?! It doesn''t take much to keep me happy! If you like dog-like-cats, you have meet me. I have a great personality and would make an awesome sidekick.

You can adopt me for only $10!

About Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority

About Our Shelter...

The Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority (SVACA) provides the cities of Campbell, Monte Sereno, Mountain View, and Santa Clara with the care of sick, injured, lost and abandoned companion animals, animal cruelty investigations, enforcement of animal laws, education and outreach programs, volunteer and foster programs, and so much more. We place all of our healthy and treatable animals as well as many of our unhealthy and untreatable animals from our cageless Animal Care Center which resulted in an overall live release rate of 88% in 2013. Our adoption program is open to all Bay Area residents. We're proud to be one of the Bay Area's "Best Municipal Shelters" according to Bay Woof Magazine.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption is a wonderful way to acquire an animal. Our goal is to make "perfect" matches so that our animals remain with their new guardians for the remainder of their lives. Here at SVACA we use the ASPCA’s Meet Your Match program in order to attempt to "match" prospective adopters with the best possible dog or cat. Other animals are also appropriately matched with their new guardians.

Appointments are recommended as a way to avoid long waits that are sometimes experienced at other shelters, but we do accept walk-ins on a first come, first served basis.

To expedite the process, prospective adopters should bring the following with them:
1. Photo ID: driver’s license or valid state ID
2. Proof of residency: current utility bill or lease agreement
3. Proof of ownership: mortgage statement
4. Pet policy at residence: leasing agreement with pet stipulation and/or contact information
5. All human members of the household
6. Dogs(s) as directed by SVACA staff

Please note that animals cannot be placed on hold until you have interacted with an animal during your appointment.

NOTE: Please do not bring pets to the Center unless you have been instructed to do so by SVACA staff.

Fees cover the spay or neuter of the animal, initial appropriate vaccinations, a professional health examination and behavior evaluation, microchip, temporary ID tag, and a free examination at a participating local veterinary clinic. SVACA member city residents also receive a license for their new companion. All fees are retained by SVACA and used to offset the cost of our operations; simply said, fees directly help the animals!
