Maxwell is a loving, smart, and playful big puppy. Max was found as a stray, and has been in his foster home almost 3 months as of mid-July. He loves to fall on his back for belly rubs, his absolute favorite thing. Max is wonderful with kids 5 years old and up, he has not been introduced to younger children yet, he is also great with his foster brothers; a 30lb Aussie, and 10lb Chihuahua. We’re not sureyet how Max is with cats because he has never been introduced to any.

Max is house trained, and will not ever have accidents in his crate, Max is still young so if someone is not home or if he cannot be supervised he does get crated just in case. Max has been well socialized with people, and knows how to sit on command and sometimes to shake, he is a people pleaser and will sit if he isn't sure what you would like him to do.

His foster works at a veterinary clinic and he goes to work with her. often for long shifts and is extremely well behaved in a cage or a run, he is crate trained at home, and sometimes he even sleeps in his crate without any issues. Max is still learning to be in the crate when someone is not able to directly watch him and if he hears people in the house he will unfortunately howl, he will need more training with this.

Max can sometimes be a submissive pee'er, but this is rare. Max loves to chew on deer antlers, and loves dental rawhide chews for a treat. Max is not your typical puppy in if you are napping he will nap too, and will play when it is time also, he loves to be around people and will do what he can to please you, but also loves to play with his foster brothers. Max would love to be in a home with other dogs, but I believe would do great in a single dog home as well with some training.

If you feel your home might be the right place for such a great dog - the place to start is with the adoption application found at Once submitted, the foster will contact you promptly to tell you more and to arrange a time to meet!

The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter.

Maxwell is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster, not by DFWRM.

About DFW Rescue Me

About Our Rescue Group...

Our goal is to save dogs at the local shelters in the Dallas \ Fort Worth Metroplex from euthanasia and adopt them to the public. We spay / neuter these dogs as well as provide all necessary medical care. We also educate the public about responsible pet ownership. We love dogs and our goal is to reduce / eliminate euthanisias being done in this area by shelters due to overcrowding.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Dogs can be met at our adoptions events, at their foster homes, or the boarding facility where they are staying. They can also be met during the home visit.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption fee for dogs is $250. We required an adoption application and check both vet references and pet deposits / breed restrictions if they apply. We also do a home check prior to all adoptions.
