Burt Reynolds's Story...
Male/DSH/Brown Tabby. DOB: ~4/20/12. FRONT DECLAWED Neutered/House-Trained/Up-to-Date on Vaccinations. Good with other cats.
Yep, Burt Reynolds the Cat is handsome enough to be a film star, but the only role he really wishes for is “Chief Cat” of your castle. Burt Reynolds became a very lucky boy when he was selected to hitch a ride on the OAR Trans Am away from a local kill shelter. He was obviously someone’s feline companion at some point as he is front declawed. We have no idea how he ended up in a local kill shelter, but he is one cool and friendly cat. Burt is not only very striking with his distinctive brown tabby markings, but he is one fun kitty. He is quite the active kid, and likes to keep moving. When his engine has died down a bit, he enjoys petting and loving. This produces a very nice purr to show you his appreciation. Please make a point to visit Burt at OAR during open adoption hours. The only part of “Deliverance” that this Burt Reynolds wants a part of is deliverance to his forever home!..

Our Adoption Process...
We have many cats and kittens looking for wonderful homes! All of our cats are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, tested for FIV and Feline Leukemia, and microchipped. Adoption fee is $50. Because we like for our cats to go home in pairs, we have a standing 2 for 1 adoption special -- you can adopt 2 cats for one fee of $50.
Meet some of our cats and kittens, and fill out an application today! An OAR representative will get in touch with you to discuss your application. We do require a phone screening before an adoption so if you are coming to visit the cats and hope to take a cat or kitten home that day, fill out and submit the application at least a day beforehand so we can pre-approve your adoption.
As of 3/7/12, our adoption policy requires that the adopters of our cats not declaw the cats, no matter what the cat's age. We will, with our adoption counselors' help, provide potential adopters with information on alternatives to declawing. We also sometimes have previously declawed cats up for adoption. These can be a good alternative for adopters who are adamant about declawing.
