My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Roma is a handsome, svelte 10lb. black and tan hunk. He is approximately 5 years old and he is kid tested and mother approved!

He walks great on a harness and loves to sunbathe! Ready to go for a ride, well he is too.

He is not a barker and is very laid back. He is a snuggly boy and loves to cuddle with you.

He takes a bit to warm up. Once he knows you are an ok human, he will follow you and ask for nothing but a gentle belly rubs and to give you sweet kisses.

His ideal adopter would have experience with shy dogs, no children under 5 and patience to help this prince of a dog turn into the king he was born to be.

If you are interested in adopting Roma, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform.shtml . Roma 's adoption fee is $450.00. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Roma will go to his new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
