My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Fig! This sweet girl came to us with her nursing puppy who has now been adopted, and now it's Fig's turn for HER forever home. Fig is a 3-4 year old "purebred little brown dog", meaning we have no idea what her breed mix is (possibly terrier, maybe some sheltie), and is fully grown at 19 lbs. Whatever she is, she is adorable! She is a bundle of love and wants nothing more than to roll over and have her belly rubbed. When Fig first arrived she was a bit timid, but has really come out of her shell and she will be a great addition to any family! She has been in a foster home with two small children so she would be happy in a home with or without children and other dogs. She is potty trained and walks nicely on a leash. She understands “no” and she sleeps through the night quietly in a crate. Fig likes spending time outside and is learning to play fetch with a tennis ball. If your family is looking for a friendly, happy dog of a small, manageable size, come meet Fig! Figs are naturally sweet, so no additional sugar needed!

You can meet Fig at her new foster home, Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Rd., 7 days a week during normal store hours. (847-251-6750, www.wilmettepetcenter.com)

Fig’s adoption fee of $325 includes: vet exam, heartworm test, DAPP (distemper combo) vaccination, Bordetella vaccination, rabies vaccination, routine deworming, flea/tick preventative, heartworm preventative, microchip and spay.
