Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lucy is an 8 month old shih tzu pup that was brought to us in April by her family who said that she was "suddenly unable to walk". They had no explanation and wanted the fluffy little puppy put to sleep. After thorough veterinary examination, we found that although Lucy had difficulty using her back end, she was certainly not paralyzed. She went to the good foster care of a staff member and after monitoring her progress for several weeks, we were quite thankful that we didn't listen to that family. Lucy is now doing absolutely fantastic and is ready to meet her new family. She has been evaluated by a neurologist that is so pleased with the progress she has made in the last few months, and who is confident that Lucy will continue to get better with good care and exercise. It was determined that the cause of Lucy's original partial paralysis was a trauma like being dropped on the floor, stepped on by a large dog or person, etc. She is now walking on all fours and doing just fine, but Lucy will need a home with dogs that are not larger than her. She loves other dogs and is very playful and we do not want to risk another injury. She will also need a home with older children for the same reason. Lucy is an absolute doll with a sweet, loving, bubbly personality. She loves people and makes friends instantly and is perfectly behaved. She will bring so much joy and happiness to the lucky family that welcomes her into their hearts and home. If you can give her the safe and loving home that she's hoping for, come in and meet our lovely Lucy. File#26390 4/20/16
