Grant is a healthy, heartworm free, fun loving and super handsome boy! He’s addicted to his ball and belly rubs. Grant was rescued from a high kill shelter. He loves people and has learned to sit. He is very treat motivated. Grant is crate trained, although we are working on the house training. Due to the rough life Grant has had thus far, it is amazing to see this guy so full of love! Grant doesn’t mind a leash, although we are working on reducing his pull. He’s a curious guy. Grant is full of energy which means he likes to jump, but he is learning his boundaries and understands the word no. We are working on socializing Grant with other dogs, however at this time, Grant is ready to be the center of your attention, so a home without pets is highly recommended. Grant is full of love and energy and does great with children, although those with small children need to exercise caution due to his size and strength. This guy is absolutely beautiful, and with continued training will make an absolute wonderful addition to the right home.

About Virginia Paws for Pits

About Our Rescue Group...

VPFP is on a mission to educate the public on the misconceptions that go hand in hand with "pit bulls" we strive to match families with the perfect dog for their lifestyle and activity level to ensure that the adoption is a success for all involved. Pit bulls and mixes account for 58% of dogs in shelters and nearly 2800 are killed every day in the united states. We promote spaying and neutering in the community and encourage our adopters to use their dogs as ambassadors for this misunderstood class of dogs, by going out into the community and making a difference.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fees vary from $50-$250 depending on the age of the animal, the amount of care provided, and the duration of their time in our rescue program. You can apply online via our website and we will be in touch with you in 48-72 hours. We do a reference check with your vet to make sure all animals in the home are current on vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered. We verify with landlords that the applicant can have a pet and there are no size or breed restrictions and finally we conduct a home inspection. Once approved there is an additional contract to sign stating that the adopter is taking over responsibility of the dog and that if at ANY time he/she is unable to care for the dog they must be returned to VPFP with ample notification to our board members.
