Champ's Story...
Champ is one handsome Pit Bull! Not long ago, he lived a life of horror- tied up to a dog house in Memphis where he didn't even have a dog bowl. He was previously owned by a gang member, who used to make him wear heavy weights on his chest and run. When we rescued Champ, he had pressure sores on him bum and chest. He is also is heart worm positive, and will be receiving treatment soon. Despite his previous living situation, he is a lover! He is really enjoying indoor life, cuddling on the couch with his foster mom, and being treated like a loved family member.
Champ gets along with other dogs, but we are told by his previous owner, not male dogs. We are unsure about cats.
If you would like to meet Champ, please go to our website to read about the process and fill out an adoption application. www.furkidrescue.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Champ, a Pittsburgh American Staffordshire Terrier/Staffordshire Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier/Staffordshire Bull Terrier for sale in Pittsburgh, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier/Staffordshire Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Pittsburgh.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pittsburgh already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pittsburgh breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier/Staffordshire Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier/Staffordshire Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pittsburgh paves the way for another one to be saved.
