We are now open both Saturday & Sunday! Saturday's from noon-5pm & Sunday's from noon-4pm.
Fancy has been through a lot in her short life. Before Kitty City found her, she'd been passed around through unstable and abusive homes, and her most recent owner threatened to kill her if someone did not take her. It was a very tense situation, and this poor kitty's life was on the line in that moment. Just like every kitty that we take in, her life was hanging in the balance. Although all of our foster homes were full, the husband of one of our fosters was very worried about Fancy and volunteered their spare room. Fancy (who was named by the husband) was very scared at the adoption center, so she was brought to her foster home that same day. The first few weeks were spent in a quiet, calm room where she got used to the sounds and smells of her new environment.
Though frightened, Fancy slowly began to come out of her shell. After a few weeks, she began to play with the other foster kitty through the bottom of the door, and was meowing to be let out. She very much enjoyed exploring her new space, and it was discovered she did well with cat-friendly dogs! However, there were a couple dominant kitties that were not very nice to her. This helped us determine that she has lower self-confidence than other cats (yes, it's a real thing with kitties).
Fancy is such a sweetheart and loves being in a safe home where she's allowed to take her time coming out of her shell and learning to trust and love again. In fact, she sleeps in her foster parents' bedroom every night. Her favorite spots to sleep are in a box under the bed next to the doggy, or on the bed lying on someone's chest.
Fancy's wish is to find a loving forever home that is a quiet, relaxed environment where she can be slowly introduced to her new surroundings. This little girl would be a wonderful addition to the right home. She's guaranteed to bring lots of smiles and laughter to her new family!
Fancy was born approximately Oct 31, 2014, and her adoption fee is $55 or adopt 2, and the 2nd is half off. She is spayed, up to date on shots and worming, tested negative for feline leukemia and is entitled to a free well exam from Mariposa Veterinary Wellness Center. The adoption center is too stressful for this sweet little girl, so her foster parents welcome you to come visit her in her home environment; this can be arranged with an approved application.
You can visit our adoptable cats and kittens Saturday's from 12pm-5pm or Sunday's from 12pm-4pm at our adoption center which is located at 12800 Santa Fe Trail Drive in Lenexa, Kansas, 66215. All our kitties are socialized and live in licensed foster homes during the week, and most come to the adoption center on the weekends. However, not every kitty attends every weekend.
