Everyone meet Donner! He has resided at the shelter since 2015. This makes Donner our longest term shelter animal. He came into the shelter underweight and bony. After some time at the shelter Donner gained his weight back, and is now a healthy and happy dog. Donner is very active and would love to have an owner that takes him on long walks. He also loves to play fetch. Even though he may come off strong, he calms down after some exercise. Shelter life is becoming tough on Donner. He needs someone to give him a second chance at love. Since Donner has been a member of the shelter for so long his adoption fee is $25.

The Macon County Animal Control & Care Center is full of fun-loving pets searching for a wonderful family to give them a place they can call home. The shelter hours are from 12-5 Monday through Friday and 12-4 on Saturdays. You do NOT need to schedule an appointment to visit with the animals. You are welcome to just stop on by! All animals that are adopted from this facility leave the shelter spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, and current on vaccinations. Dogs have been tested for heartworms and cats have been tested for Feline Leukemia. Come by the animal shelter today to meet the 100+ cats and the 50+ dogs available for adoption!
