NJ Fish and Wildlife turned over to AHW a group of 7 baby Quakers! They are slightly varying ages, so a few will be ready to go before the others, but all have about 6 weeks or so left before they will be ready to go to their new homes.
We are welcoming adopters to come out meet the babies, connect with a little one and return for visits over the next many weeks as the babies grow, fledge and are wean.
These little ones are available to adopters in NY, CT, MA or any state that is within driving distance, but if you live in NJ or PA, Quakers are illegal and we cannot adopt a Quaker into any home in NJ or PA. Please note, full adoption screenings, vet reference and home visit are required, and we will be confirming residence to ensure these babies go only to legal homes where they will be safe for the rest of their long adorable lives!!
The Adoption Process:Fill out our online adoption application which can be found on our website, www.ahelpingwing.org (no phone calls please). A representative from A Helping Wing will be in touch to answer all questions and discuss setting up a first visit. Multiple visits are required before adoption. Although there is no application fee, there is an adoption fee, which covers food, medical care, etc., and allows us to continue our efforts in rescuing, caring for, and finding homes for all of our birds. All birds at AHW have been vetted and have negative tests for any disease before they are made available for adoption!

NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter! Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures, on the pet's details page on Adopt-a-Pet.com.
