PERSONALITY: Laura came to us from a rescue in Puerto Rico. This regal beauty is a very special girl for many reason. She was in a rescue group in PR for over 7 years, never having a home or family to call her own. Once here, this beautiful girl had a hard time acclimating and adjusting to her new world. She slowly started to come around and bond with the staff here, having a happy dog grin and mad tail wag when she saw her favorite people. Now Laura faces a new challenge. She has been diagnosed with a very rare form of chronic glaucoma and will most likely continue to lose all of her vision. Laura has become snappy with other animals due to not being able to predict their movements or knowing when they approach her until they are very close. She spends most days hanging in the offices and being showered with attention, however it is not a home. Laura is desperately seeking a quiet adult home with no other pets to spend her years. Due to never having had a home in her entie life, it will need to be a patient person who will give her time to acclimate not just to her new environment but also someone patient to help her learn to navigate due to her progressing vision loss. Laura will be an ARF scholarship candidate where all of her medical needs relating to her vision will be covered here by the ARF veterinarians. All the adopter needs to provide is routine care, food and a loving home with a securely fenced in yard. If you are able to open your home to Laura, please give a call and speak to one of the adoption coordiantors. If unable to adopt, Laura always appreciates a quiet walk or just someone to sit with her and provide company.
