I am already neutered, housetrained, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, not good with kids, not good with dogs, and not good with cats.
Hello there! I'm Fritz, and I'm a young pointer mix fella who was born about January 2015 and who weighs about 40 pounds. I came into the Buster's Friends program after a Good Samaritan found me wandering the streets of southwest Houston. Somehow I got separated from my home, but I have been well-trained by my former owners. I know how to sit as well as shake, and when you open the door, I know not to go outside unless I've been given permission to do so.
However, I'm carrying a lot of baggage from having to fend for myself on the streets. After defending myself from other dogs while I was a stray, now it's hard for me trust other dogs. And I'm leery of humans because some of them didn't treat me so great while I was a stray either. It's going to take a lot of love to woo me back and help me gain my confidence again.
However, the good news is that I'm already on the road to recovery: a professional dog trainer is working with me on just these issues. So you might say that I'm a diamond in the rough who's getting polished up by a pro.
My adopter needs to have a strong, firm personality that I will respect and yet be patient and kind in order to develop my trust. Hey, are there any dog whisperers out there? (You don't have to be as good as Cesar Millan either.) And I'd best be placed in a home without other dogs, cats, or small children.
Just look at my eager-to-please expression on my face! You'd have to admit that I'm pretty adorable. Won't you give me my new forever home because I can't find my way back to my first one?
Fritz is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm tested. His adoption fee is $150, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Fritz, and we can arrange for you to meet him.
