Faith is no longer at the shelter. She is living in a foster home. For more info on Faith, please email jpasfosterEB@gmail.com
Faith is a velcro dog; she wants to be close to you. She is excellent on a leash and walks right at your side. She is a calm, sweet and gentle lady who came to us as a stray and was not redeemed. Wouldn't you want this loving 66 pound girl to cuddle with you to watch a movie? She is waiting.
Faith has a condition that causes some mild compression of her spinal cord. This issue causes her to slip on slick surfaces and some mild trouble getting up in the rear legs. However, she is able to walk/stand/urinate normally. She is currently on a decreasing dosage of steroids and getting crate rest in a foster home to improve her condition
Her foster home says, 'Faith is an incredibly sweet, loving dog that doesn't let anything slow her down. She has a spinal condition, but you wouldn't know it unless you're paying attention. She loves to throw her toys for herself and chase them around the yard. While she has trouble sitting on slick floors sometimes, she doesn't mind trying!
She greets dogs and humans with a friendly tail wag on all our walks (which she also enjoys immensely) and doesn't respond to dogs who bark at her through fences. She pulls at kitties but has gotten much better about that in the time she's been with me. She loves to be around her human, but she also loves laying in the warm sun and hanging out in the backyard. Faith would probably do best in a home with another calmer/older dog for her to play with or at least be companionable to. Every where we go, people stop to pet this well-behaved girl and comment on how calm she is.
We have been working with a trainer on manners. Faith has mastered walking on a leash and is 100% crate trained. She knows 'Sit' and 'Stay', though 'stay' is difficult when it's dinner time!
Most of all, Faith is going to need a patient owner who loves her unconditionally, the way she loves her human. She responds well to praise and would love it if you could scratch behind her ears and her chest for the rest of her life!'
