Delilah's Story...
Delilah is a 6-8 year old, 40 lbs girl. She was a stray before she came into our foster program. She was very unsure of the "inside world" since she had really never spent time inside (to our knowledge), but after spending a few days inside in the cool, she LOVES it. Delilah also LOVES her people and is very loyal. She is housebroken and does well in the house. She likes to go on walks (she does well on a leash), snuggle with her person, and sleep. She has a strong personality and can be hard-headed at times, but that really just makes her even more loveable (and funny!) Delilah would be great for someone who wants a low-key dog. She gets along with other dogs as long as they aren't yappy or overly obnoxious (like puppies). At night, she sleeps with her foster parents. If you are interested in adding Delilah to your family, please go to www.goofyfootrescue.org to complete an online adoption application. She is being fostered in West TN and will be transported once her adoption is finalized.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Delilah, a Nashville Basset Hound/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound/Border Collie for sale in Nashville, or seeking a Basset Hound/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Nashville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Nashville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Nashville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound/Border Collie breeders who help with Basset Hound/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Nashville paves the way for another one to be saved.
