Pearl is a dainty dynamo who loves playing chase -- laser, ball, or catnip mouse, makes no difference to her so long as she can run (and run and run and run...). Then she's ready for a break. She loves a nice long nap in your lap, and a tummy scratch, which will result in a loud purr of thanks. Pearl considers herself a whole lot lucky as she was picked from a pool of other kitties at a local kill shelter to have her chance at OAR to secure her forever home; one where she will never have to worry again about being tossed away. Pearl is a tad skittish about new things, but warms up quickly so long as she has a place to retreat if necessary while she evaluates the situation. She likes cats she is familiar with, though her extroverted nature rubs some cats the wrong way. Pearl LOVES people, especially people with her favorite brand of cat treats. As Pearl does love climbing inside furniture and appliances, she would do best in a forever home that is ready and able to keep a watchful eye on this curious cat. Pearl is so hoping that someone will very soon come to OAR and say they want “this oyster.” She is a gem that will make some person or family a wonderful, happy companion...

Our Adoption Process...

We have many cats and kittens looking for wonderful homes! All of our cats are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, tested for FIV and Feline Leukemia, and microchipped. Adoption fee is $50. Because we like for our cats to go home in pairs, we have a standing 2 for 1 adoption special -- you can adopt 2 cats for one fee of $50.

Meet some of our cats and kittens, and fill out an application today! An OAR representative will get in touch with you to discuss your application. We do require a phone screening before an adoption so if you are coming to visit the cats and hope to take a cat or kitten home that day, fill out and submit the application at least a day beforehand so we can pre-approve your adoption.

As of 3/7/12, our adoption policy requires that the adopters of our cats not declaw the cats, no matter what the cat's age. We will, with our adoption counselors' help, provide potential adopters with information on alternatives to declawing. We also sometimes have previously declawed cats up for adoption. These can be a good alternative for adopters who are adamant about declawing.
