I’m a bit of a train wreck but if you decide to care for me you’ll be

rewarded with all my love. Every day I’m happy to have my foster

family arrive home so I can sit near them all evening. I love to lie in the

sun when I’m feeling up to the walk outdoors. I suffer from extreme

allergies and my eyes and ears just aren’t like they used to be. I walk

with much difficulty and need to have everything close by me. My

foster Mom has my needs figured out and can show you how to keep

me comfortable. I think cats are pesky creatures so foster Mom keeps

them far from me. My dog buddies that I boss around understand why

I’m sometimes cranky and give me my space. Foster Mom has learned

the hard way that I must eat a strict diet or my hair falls out in patches

and I get large sores. She orders me a special kibble and cooks me some

fabulous wet dog food that she sneaks my pills into. I do have several

pills and daily eye drops/ointments. I see special vets to get treatment

for my eyes, allergies and arthritis. Foster Mom tells me all the time

how beautiful I am and how she loves my snaggle tooth kisses, it makes

me feel happy and I wiggle my cute crooked tail at her. If you live in

Utah and think you might be interested in giving me all my special

needs and unwavering forever love, please apply.

</orange>
If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out the Online Application!

About Community Animal Welfare Society

About Our Rescue Group...

Founded in 1992 the Community Animal Welfare Society ( CAWS) is one of the oldest no-kill animal rescues in Utah. Over the last 20 years CAWS, our fosters and supporters have saved thousands of lives including over 600 last this year. As the largest foster home network in the state of Utah we focus on high risk pets in need of additional care and rehabilitation

Come Meet Our Pets...

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.

Our Adoption Process...

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at, email or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.
