My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Barry would be such a perfect companion for anyone who is searching for that active and loyal hiking partner. At just about 8 months old and 18 lbs (anticipated to be about 22 lbs when full grown), Barry is so portable that he can be a full-time best friend...accompanying his guardians everywhere a small and very sweet dog is allowed. It's always amazing to us at Farfel's Rescue that these dogs with great temperaments...as well as so very adorable...end up in precarious situations. It just doesn't get much cuter than Barry's scruffy Terrier face with the amazing markings.

Barry was a last-minute save for us...he would have been euthanized in a dismal Texas shelter if kind TX rescuers hadn't stepped up. But how could they not have? This little dog is just so awesome with his whole life lying in front of him...a life in which he can bring so much joy to a special family.

Barry, as a very young guy, is a blank slate waiting to learn about the world. With clear guidance and positive reinforcement obedience classes, Barry can have great behavior and be a very bonded companion. He is an all-time snuggler and will cuddle his way into any heart!

Barry may be frightened initially at transport since rehoming is scary ..but with love and nurturing, he will absolutely shine We envision Barry with an active and patient retired couple or individual...he would be overjoyed with the time he could spend in their company. It's not that Biscuit is a needy guy...not at all...he just loves the company of his humans who respect him for all his wonderful traits.

Barry likes children and enjoys playing with them...but we would only be open to older kids who can be gentle and understanding that Biscuit is a small pup and needs soft and gentle handling. For those family members who enjoy walks and time outside in the beautiful Colorado scenery, Barry would love nothing more than to share the experience. He is always up for a walk, fascinated by the activity around him. He breathes in the air, so happy to be free of the dismal shelter environment. Then, maybe his favorite part...it's time to end the day with hugs, belly rubs and a warm spot on the bed beside his favorite people.

Barry is a non-shedding or lightly shedding guy and will therefore require periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition to keep his coat cotton-soft and matt-free. Barry isn't suggested for those with very severe allergy concerns.

Barry will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 7/22/16. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/.
