Furby is the prettiest little boy. He is approx 3 yrs and 26 lbs. He looks like a cairn terrier mix. He is just a darling dog. When we first rescued him, we noticed that he walked rather stiffly on his back legs and they were bowed, like he had been riding a horse a long time! The vet did x rays and could see nothing wrong, but felt he may have a disc problem. So we had the neurologist check him out. She recommended cage rest for 4 weeks to see if that helped...after 4 weeks he was still the same so we decided to do an MRI. He has evidence of two chronic disk herniations. The neurologist felt that no surgery was needed at this time as he is not in pain, the surgery would probably not be worthwhile. However, there is always a chance in the future that he may need surgery or have more disk issues . The good news is that he is a very low energy dog and trots around the yard fine with the other dogs, but does not run and play to much, so his risk of more injury is lesser. He is a really sweet dog, has a winning personality and is going to be a great companion for someone. We would prefer an adult home. We do have the full report from the neurologist for anyone to review.
The total adoption donation of $475 and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration.
