My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***Please note: Maggie is a Courtesy Listing***

Maggie is an adorable 7 year old schnauzer/bichon mix who weighs 15 lbs. She was adopted from Paws Chicago six years ago and transplanted to LA where she lived with a couple comfortably in their apartment. Unfortunately, when that couple had children, Maggie began to display signs of anxiety. She has lived with kids now for 4 years but is showing increased anxiety towards children as they grow older and more interested in engaging with her. Because of this, Maggie’s family has made the heartbreaking decision to find her a new forever home that will be child free. Maggie is an excellent adult companion as she is very adaptable. She loves to be active, taking walks, hiking and visiting the dog park but she’s equally happy following her family around the house and snuggling on the couch. Taking naps on her daddy’s chest is one of her favorite things. Maggie has had obiediance training and will respond to simple commands with hand signals such as sit, stay, come and lay down. She also knows several tricks including speak, shake hand and dance. When it comes to alerting you when someone is at your house, Maggie is all schnauzer (ie. she will bark). Maggie does get along with other dogs when off leash but does become excited and pull when encountering dogs on walks (a behavior she began displaying after the first child was introduced to her family). If you are an individual or couple looking for an adroable, affectionate, loyal dog that has been loved and cared for who needs to find a home where she won’t have to worry about dealing with children, Maggie may be right for you.
